IMPORTANT DATES

Program Dates: Saturday July 6 – Sunday August 11, 2024 (in-person at the UWI-Cave Hill in Barbados)

Application period is now closed

Application Deadline (on-line): March 31, 2024 at 11:59 PM EST

Applicants required to have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by March 31, 2024, unless there is a medical reason this is not possible in which case a letter from the applicant’s primary physician documenting this is required


FOR STUDENTS
2 Minute Video Overview of SPISE:

To be eligible to apply to SPISE, students must be:
(1) At least age 16 but less than age 18 on April 1, 2024
AND
(2) Citizens or permanent residents of the English-speaking Caribbean (excluding U.S. territories) or Bermuda, and have been enrolled in a high school within the Caribbean or Bermuda for the past 4 years. (Note: applicants from the Dutch, French and Spanish-speaking Caribbean countries may be considered on a case-by-case basis.)

Students applying to the program will need to:

  • Fill out the online application form and provide all of the supporting materials requested (see application form).
  • Request 2 letters of recommendation, using the document that can be accessed within the application form, from: (a) a current or recent (within last 2 years) Math Teacher, and (b) a current or recent (within last 2 years) Science Teacher. These letters of recommendation need to be emailed directly to applications.csf@gmail.com by the recommender.
