CSF Project Participant Privacy Pledge
The Caribbean Science Foundation (CSF) periodically collects personal and biographical data on individuals to match the services we provide with the individual’s age, academic background and needs, and to meet demographic constraints imposed by its sponsors. Such data are reported in aggregate form only in our final reports to the sponsors. The CSF respects the privacy of each individual and is fully aware of the damage the potential abuse and misuse of such personal information can cause for the individual.
For all individuals who apply to or participate in programs offered by the CSF, the CSF pledges to carry out responsible stewardship and appropriate use of everyone’s personal information according to the commitments below and in adherence with all laws applicable to the CSF as a service provider. The CSF commits to:
- Not collecting, maintaining, using or sharing the individual’s personal information beyond that needed for authorized educational purposes or as authorized by the parent/ individual
- Not selling the individual’s information
- Not behaviorally targeting advertising
- Using data for authorized education purposes only
- Not changing privacy policies without notice and choice
- Enforcing strict limits on data retention
- Supporting parental access to, and correction of errors in, their children’s information
- Providing comprehensive security standards
- Being transparent about collection and use of data
