So you're interested in applying for SPISE 2022...

The following are documents you will need to submit in addition to the application form. You may jump start your application process by having these ready for upload to application portal when it becomes available again on Monday February 21st, 2022. Please do not email any essays to the CSF, you will be able to upload them when the portal reopens. 
 

1. Transcripts

  1. Official high school transcript for 3 most recent Forms/Grades (if not in English, please provide translation). Please format filename as follows: My CSEC Results.pdf as ‘SPISE 20XX – Doe, John – 20XX CSEC Results.pdf’

    Submitting your official transcript is a mandatory requirement. However, if at the time of the submission of your application, you do not have an official copy from your school, please upload an unofficial copy (scans of report cards, etc.) and ask your school to email the official copy to csfhdq@gmail.com as soon as it is available.

  2. CAPE/Associate Degree 1st semester grades or copy of report card/transcript (if not in English, please provide translation). Please format filename as follows: My School report.pdf as ‘SPISE 20XX – Doe, John –1st Term Report (CAPE).pdf’

  3. One copy each of CSEC grades (or equivalent exam), CAPE, and/or SAT scores if you took these exams. Please format filename as follows: My CSEC Results.pdf as ‘SPISE 20XX – Doe, John – 20XX CSEC Results.pdf’

2. Letters of Recommendation

  1. Math Teacher recommendation on school stationery, and signed (be sure to download the ‘SPISE REQUEST FOR LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION’ and send it to your math teacher well in advance of the due date). Click here to download the request.

3. Essays

Essay 1: What are your career goals? How might attending SPISE support these goals? (200-300 words)
Essay 2: The lessons we take from failure can be fundamental to later success. Recount an incident or time when you experienced failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience? (250-650 words)
Essay 3: Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful they believe their application would be incomplete without it.  What do you want the readers of your application to know about you apart from courses, grades, and test scores?  (250-650 words)
Essay 4: What is a significant problem facing the Caribbean region today, and how do you think you might contribute to solving that problem with STEM?   (200-300 words)
